A summery of the novel the messenger by markus zusak

The bank robber leads Ed to a man with a folder, and this random guy says he set the whole thing up because he saw how ordinary Ed was. Ed is still afraid of dealing with the rapist at the first address, so he moves on to the third.

Ed is hailed as a hero even though he is not usually the hero type. Plus it makes his stories delectably quick to read.

Ed returns to life as usual, but a few days later, he gets a mysterious package in the mail: After completing this list he begins receiving even more cards and addresses in the mail, and continues visiting people and solving their problems for several more cycles.

He then shoots at the robber, but misses and hits the getaway car instead. One day a man enters his cab and asks him to drive to every address he has been to so far, taking him on a tour of his accomplishments, before revealing that he was the robber, before telling him to go back home.

His ma, who does not hide the fact that she hates him, would never bother. Through his journey, Ed becomes more confident in his abilities and improves as a human being.

She says the card probably appeared because Ed was in the newspaper. Ritchie, Marv, and Audrey. Soon after this occurs, he receives an envelope in the mail with three addresses, dates, and times, as well as the ace of diamonds.

She always wears shoes to her meets, so one morning Ed knocks on her door and gives her father an empty shoebox. And the way he breaks his sentences to evoke emotional pauses is poetic.

Ed complains about his life, lamenting his strained relationship with his mother Bev Kennedy, as his father died recently and left Ed with only his dog, the Doorman. His friend Marv is too dumb, and Ritchie is too lazy.
